Heavenly Father, it was great to be able to celebrate a friend's birthday party this evening. The joy for all the celebrants was palpable, and what's more wonderful is how the 'birthday boy' shared his celebration with his church. It was a generous gift, the gift of a party for folks that needed something to enjoy without feeling obliged to give or to do something. Sometimes as Pastors we ask a lot of our church, so it was nice for my friend to give something back. I pray, God, that I might be as generous and find a way to share my joy with my church, just because.
